Architecture: site observations & design quality
Record what you saw, where you saw it
Photograph the detail, mark the exact concern and attach the drawing reference, location and responsible package. The observation stays legible after everyone has left the room.
Issue a schedule, not a camera roll
- One record per observation. Marked-up photos, notes and stable IDs keep every conversation tied to the same issue.
- Filter by package or location. Send the façade contractor their items without exposing the noise from the rest of the walk.
- Carry the design intent through. Add drawing and specification references where the team needs them, not in a separate email chain.
- Close out visibly. Put the after photo beside the original observation and retain the dated history.
Useful from first inspection to handover
Use the same record set for design-team inspections, sample reviews, practical completion and the final defects period. Capture keeps working in cores, basements and plant spaces without signal.
