The situation
The monthly walk-round produces a list that lives in one person's notebook. Defects get emailed to contractors as prose. Three weeks later nobody's sure what was fixed, what wasn't, or what the plant room actually looked like.
With Snagwalk
- One walk, one record set. Every defect photographed and marked, located ("Plant Room 2 · AHU-3"), prioritised, and assigned to its contractor.
- Contractor-scoped lists. Each maintainer gets their items (numbered, photographed, dated) as a PDF they can work from or a CSV for their system.
- Resolution with evidence. Before/after photos on the same record; reopen what isn't right. The next walk starts from what's still open.
- A dated record of each walk. Earlier reports stay as they were issued, while the live list continues through re-inspection.
Works where estates actually are
Risers, basements, roof plant: no coverage, no problem. Capture is offline-first and the sync ledger shows what's still on the phone. For the preparation habits that make dead zones a non-event, see running inspections with no signal.
